After answering the call-to-action from the CEO of a major nutritional company to guide his leadership team though the discovery of their higher purpose to catalyze a shift in its strategic direction, the Stengel Group turned our collective attention to internal purpose activation. Inspired by the purpose and the heritage it represented, our work first engaged the company’s top 150 leaders, providing them with the tools to internalize the purpose, inspire commitment, and drive advocacy. Guided by a Purpose Activation Team of internal champions, these leaders in turn focused on engaging employees through new purpose-centric employee benefit programs, changes in their talent recruitment & development approach, and various workspace initiatives. All of these programs were designed to reinforce and sustain employee focus on better connecting to consumer needs and building the business in line with the new purpose.
